TOURNAMENT TERMS & CONDITIONS

Please read these conditions carefully before completing the entry form. By submitting this form, you agree to the conditions under which this tournament will be conducted.

GENERAL RULES & CONDUCT

  • The Tournament is sanctioned by Tennis Malta and all matches will be played in accordance with the current International Tennis Federation (ITF) rules of tennis.
  • All players will need to be registered with the Malta Tennis & Padel Federation and be in possession of a valid annual ‘MTPF Registration Number’. Players may register through the MTPF website and will be required to submit all the necessary documentation. https://mtpf.mt/player-registration-form/
  • Players participating in Junior Tournaments will have the opportunity to participate in another age category just above their actual permitted age category, as long as the player has also registered for participation in their respective age categories.
  • Punctuality is crucial. Competitors who are not present at their scheduled match time may be defaulted (scratched).
  • Players must wear appropriate tennis attire and non-marking tennis shoes while on court.
  • Any player exhibiting unsportsmanlike conduct or engaging in bad court behaviour may face suspension or disqualification from the tournament and may be reported to the Malta Tennis & Padel Federation (MTPF).
  • Coaching is prohibited during a match, including any verbal/non-verbal advice or instruction, from anyone. Violation of this rule may result in disqualification.
  • The ‘No Let Rule’ shall be applied during all matches, therefore Serves that touch the net and land in the correct service box are considered in play.

SCHEDULING & MATCH PLAY

  • Players must be available to play their matches at any time of the day during the tournament. Players should also be prepared to play up to two matches in a single day.
  • No changes to scheduled fixtures will be permitted except in extraordinary circumstances as determined by the Organisers.
  • All matches will be the best of three sets, with a tie-break operating in all sets (e.g., at 6-6). Except for U10 and U12.
  • For the Under 10 events: Sets will be played until 6 games and no-ad scoring with a deciding point at first deuce, with a tie-break at 6-6. In the event of one set all, the match will be decided by a match tie-break (first to 10 points with a 2-point clear lead).
  • For the Under 12 events: Sets will be played until 6 games, with a tie-break at 6-6. In the event of one set all, the match will be decided by a match tie-break (first to 10 points with a 2-point clear lead).
  • Qualifying rounds may be played if the Organisers deem it necessary due to the number of entries.
  • Match schedules for the following day will be posted on the Tournament Notice board, and the MTPF’s official Website page. It is the player’s responsibility to check these platforms for their match times.
  • The tournament will be played exclusively on hard courts.

ENTRY FEES, WITHDRAWALS, & TOURNAMENT AUTHORITY

  • Players who withdraw or retire from the tournament after the official withdrawal deadline (Wednesday 29th 6pm) are still obligated to pay the respective entry fees.
  • The Referee and Organisers reserve the right to alter or modify the tournament program and these conditions as they deem fit. They also reserve the right to refuse any entry without stating a reason.
  • The Referee’s decision on any complaint or dispute is final.
  • If an event receives fewer than 8 entries, it may be cancelled. In such cases, the entrance fee will be fully refunded.

ENTRIES

  • Entry Deadline is Monday 27th July
  • Entry fees are €25.00 per singles event per player. These MUST be submitted with the form.
  • Players may not enter more than 2 events.
  • The Officials reserve the right to refuse any entry without stating a reason.
  • If there are less than 8 entries for an event it may not be held, in which case entry fees will be refunded.
  • Players must be available to play up to the last tournament date.

DRAWS

  • The draws for all events will be held on Wednesday 29th 6pm at the National Tennis Centre and are open to all.

PRESENTATION

Trophies will be awarded to the winners and runners-up of the various events during a presentation ceremony following the finals.
